GIPA case management and reporting tool
A free GIPA case management and reporting tool has been developed to assist agencies to process and report on formal access applications. For more information or to register for access, contact the OIC on 1800 INFOCOM (1800 463 626).
Agency administrators and users who have received their user ID details from the OIC can directly log into the GIPA case management and reporting tool.
GIPA access application form
The GIPA Act access application form is available for use by agencies that have not registered for the web-based GIPA case management and reporting tool.

The OIC has produced a new resource for frontline agency staff to help them respond to requests for information,
Responding to information requests – a guide for government staff gives a brief explanation of the GIPA Act and encourages staff to consider several questions before deciding whether to release the requested information.
Agencies can simply fill in the details of their Right to Information Officer and circulate the guide to all employees.
